I've been doing a lot of quiet reflection lately with God . I will admit, there have been many days in my past, where I felt like motherhood was only something others got to experience and I longed so much for. We tried (through the years) to do things to make our plan work our way, but it never was successful. We both finally got to a point where, we decided to fully place our hearts desires of having children, in God's hands. It was only after that breaking point, did the stress of everything go away. What really matters in life, isn't our happiness, rather knowing that we are in step with God's word and his purpose for our lives. Jim & I never imagined that 3.5 years ago God would send a precious little angel into our lives, in a matter of hours. But God did know and we trusted God through the hard times of the adoption process to make Thomas, our son. We felt so blessed to watch Thomas grow from a sweet little baby boy, to a smart, funny and cute little boy. We felt like he needed a sibling, yet we wanted it to be God's will for our family, not ours. So we prayed and prayed and waited. We were filled with joy the day our phone rang with the information for a perfect match placement of a baby girl. God never ceases to amaze us. There will be hard days through our adoption process to make Hannah our baby girl, but we are trusting that God will make all things perfect in His way, in His timing. How exciting is it to be watching this happen, and of course be the main story characters of some amazing testimonies of God's plan. Today at church we sang a beautiful song "How Great is our God" and I felt God put a peace over my heart and calm my anxieties. As I sang that song and looked down at my precious baby girl, Hannah, who was so peacefully sleeping in my arms. I began to cry.
How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God
Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb Name above all names
Worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God
How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God
Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb Name above all names
Worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God
How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God
I realized at that moment, that God was looking up at me through her smile, reassuring me to just "trust Him and his perfect will for our lives". Don't worry about tomorrow, cherish each minute today and just to know that He is the Author of our story. He already knows how things will turn out. We believe Hannah was placed in our lives because it's all part of God's plan, when we decided to trust him. I pray that as this post may be "deep" that you'll see into my heart and know how much I'm rejoicing in these amazing, precious gifts that God has given Jim & I. I am their Mommy. I am so blessed!!
....sing with me How great is our God, and all will see How great,
How great is our God
