If you sprinkle when you tinkle...

If you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be neat and wipe the seat!!

Thomas has been giving a lot of clues that he's ready to start potty training. So tonight we put his big boy chonees on and left his stool by the toilet. He kept saying "go pee pee" and we'd go in with him. He'd stare at the toilet and then at us. Finally as Jim and him were reading a story on the couch, he got off the couch, and Jim asked him if he had to go pee pee. He said no, then stood there, dropped his chonees and went in the bathroom. He made it to the toilet and went pee pee standing up. We were so excited, we clapped and said "Good job Thomas, such a big boy." He was so excited and so we called Nama & Papa and he told them he "pee peed in the potty" and they were so excited, too. So we are officially working on potty-training. Next phase of parenthood.

Almost done!!

So this evening we recieved a phone call from Thomas' SW. She shared with us some exciting news that today was the court hearing for the appeal that the BM filed. The judge ruled a rejection on the appeal, in our favor. So what next?? His SW and our SW will meet to fill out some paperwork and wait for a scheduled hearing date of the FINALIZATION for the adoption.
We are so excited as this long process is coming quickly to a close.
Tonight we want you to Praise God with us, as he has been in control of this whole process.

Snow Day

We took Thomas to Mt. Laguna for his second visit to snow.  His first introduction was last year in Montana when he was one, it lasted 5 minutes.  This time it lasted 45 minutes before he was done.  He loved riding the sled down the hill with Mommy and Daddy.

Today we went to the Wild Animal Park for a little afternoon of fun before it rained. We got to feed these birds some nectarine juice. It freaked Thomas out when about 3 birds landed on his arm. So Daddy helped him hold the juice cup and the birds landed on Daddy. They were a little intimidating especially when like 4-5 would land on your arms or head.

We stopped at the Fischer Price playground to run off some energy. Thomas loves to go down slides...........weeeeee!!

We saw a few animals in the petting karal, before it started to rain. Thought this was a funny picture, since the deer (like animal) is sticking his tongue out.

Saw the gorillas, fed the birds, visited the petting karal, saw the ducks and made it back to the car when the rain started really coming down. It was kind of fun to not worry about getting wet.........it's only water. Thomas took a nap on the way home and snuggled into his blankets for more naptime when he got home. What a nice family afternoon.

Thomas's Dedication

Last Sunday we dedicated Thomas to the Lord and as parents we made a promise/commitment to raise him up to know Jesus, be a good example of Christians and read the bible to him everyday.

Routine visit

Today Thomas' SW came to visit us. Until the adoption is final, she has to see him every other month. We are so blessed to have a great SW. She shared with me some more information on the process. It's a lot to explain over the blog, so in short, she's thinking it might be more like early summer before we see finalization happen. The system just has a bunch of hoops to go through, I guess. Anyways, she shared with me the results from his developmental and she was happy to report on a few things he was average, but on most he was above average. She couldn't believe how tall he'd gotten since our visit in December. He talked with her and showed her his toys, and she was again impressed with his development. The visit was nice and Thomas said "Bye-Bye Sawra" (Sarah) as she walked out.

A mumbled prayer

Last night we watched Thomas do something we've been teaching him. We've been working on praying before dinner. We pray slow enough for him to repeat some of the words. We thank God for our food, our fun day and for all our friends, family and animals (list them one by one). Well last night I got him in his booster chair at the table to eat. All the food was on the table, and I walked in to tell Jim dinner was ready. When we both walked back into the dining room, Thomas had his hands folded, head bowed and was mumbling. I guess he was saying his own prayer last night. I know that God understands his heart and can decifer the mumbles.
