This afternoon we received a phone call from our Social Worker. She informed us that another couple had been chosen to adopt that little baby. So this was not our baby, either. She did say that "we are being reviewed a lot" whatever that means. Personally I think it means that possibly we have had a few matches, or are still being considered for other cases. Our SW did inform us that she doesn't call her adoptee families every time they are selected or looked at for a child. Her reason for doing this is so that every time we hear about it, we'd get our hopes up (only human to do that). So I respect her for choosing not to call us every time we are matched. I could only imagine how our emotions would be. Talk about a roller coaster!! So we have to know that we are still in the system and the baby God has for us hasn't come along yet. Your prayers of strength for us really do mean a lot. We feel like this is a hardest way to wait for a child... God is in control!!
I feel like God is wrapping his arms around us, when we get a "NO". He holds us and whispers "I see your saddness, I know your desires, but know that I am here to hold you through this, too." I want to crawl up in his lap and feel him hug me. I want to cry on his shoulder, while he comforts me. We need your prayers to help wipe our tears, too.
