Baby.......it's cold outside!
Today we took Jim's nephew and Thomas to play in the snow. Of course we knew that Thomas wouldn't last long. So we bundled him up with two layers of clothes, a sweatshirt, a vest and a beanie for his head that covered his ears. He looked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy the way he struts when he's layered in clothes. He wouldn't put his mittens on, so we made it a quick visit. Jim left the truck running with the heater on HIGH and I had his blankets all ready for him inside, too. We put him on the little sled and Jim pushed him down a little ditch so we could get a few pictures. About 5 minutes, and he was done. So while Jim & his nephew played more, Thomas & I got in the truck. I wrapped him up in his blankets with his little teeth chattering and we both made BRR noises. I think he was trying to out BRR me, but he stopped when I brought out his bottle. We sat in the truck that was all warm and the windows began to fog up. It was a mere 15 degrees outside!! I showed Thomas how to breathe on the window and wipe it off which he was enjoying until he noticed his Daddy walking toward the truck. Jim threw a snow ball at the truck window at which scared Thomas but then he started laughing. Jim kept putting snow on the window and Thomas thought it was the neatest thing. He had fun despite the cold temperature. He fell asleep on the way back to town. And by the time we got home he was ready for a warm meal and his bath. Tomorrow is our last full day in Montana. We will head back to California on Monday and we are looking forward to our home, doggies and our normal routines.
